The sternal occipital mandibular immobilization (SOMI) is a rigid cervical brace that limits flexion, extension, and rotation of the cervical region, while also supporting the upper spine region. The SOMI brace is made up of a chest bone support, back of head support, lower jaw & chin support, and cervical & thoracic support. The posts of the mandible and occipital bone are made of lightweight aluminum, and the breathable foam/fabric composites are used for the liner.
